Our story
Over sixty years of cable manufacturing, exporting yearly to over 60 countries worldwide and known as the preferred partner for all cabling needs. That is Helmacab.
The roots of our business go all the way back to 1905, when our old parent company Helkama was founded. Cable business began in the 1950’s as part of own electronic production, and in the 1970’s Helkama Bica concentrated solely on cable design and manufacturing. Since the 1980’s Helkama has been one of the strongest globally known brands in Marine cabling, and over the years, the company expanded its operations both domestically and internationally.
The largest shift forward bringing new resources and a true growth spurt happened in 2024, when the entire share capital of Helkama Bica was sold to Swedish private equity investor Accent Equity and Helkama Bica’s executive management. The ownership change brought with it a new name – Helmacab, to better reflect the new era of the freshly independent company. The superior service, premium products, quintessential quality and committed customer service our customers have grown accustomed to still remains a guarantee. Just under a new fresh name.
We keep it reel
Helmacab designs and manufactures different types of cables for Marine, Telecom, Industrial, Mining, Movable, Offshore (SHF2), Optical fiber, Instrumentation and Fire-resistant applications.
Our three production facilities are located in Kaarina and Hanko in Finland, and in Shanghai, China. We also have a full service logistics center and sales team in Holland. Globally we have over 290 essential employees.
We are flexible
Why? And why is it beneficial to both our customers and to us? Because flexibility means we can adjust and customize our service, cables, range and logistics services to best serve each of our customers. No wasted effort or off-the-shelf solutions. This frees our customers to optimize their projects and designs with us and gives both our customers and us a huge advantage in the field. Each project has a unique combination of cable requirements, and our range and expertise can cover them all.
