Spirit and style

The first vessel of the two ropax ferries, Spirit of Tasmania IV was built by RMC for TT-Line Company. The vessels will operate between Geelong and Devonport on Australia’s Bass Strait, a route known for its challenging sea conditions, for which these vessels have been specially built. The Spirit of Tasmania IV is the first ferry on the Bass Strait route to use LNG fuel, and the first ship in the world to have the circuit breakers and switches of the ship’s electrical power distribution realized using an integrated bus solution to help conserve fuel and facilitate the tracking of energy savings.

Helmacab was the main cable supplier producing and delivering several hundred kilometers of cables on time and according to RMC production schedule. Helmacab covered the full scope of power and instrumentation cabling needs for the project.
